Karoliina holds a Master of Science from University of Eastern Finland and she has studied Russian language, economics and politics. She has experience in export sales to CIS countries in the private sector, when she worked for “Sandvik” and experience in consulting of export sales to the Russian market in the company called “ISBE”. She has also worked for the public sector for the city owned development company in Mikkeli, Finland ”Miksei” and activated bioenergy-related companies to export sales in various markets, activated international investments to the Mikkeli region and worked as a project manager for EU funded projects. She has been working with William and Peng since 2014 and she started as a CEO of Pohjolan Mustikka in 2017.
Expert in sales and branding
Jia (William) Fu graduated from Dalhousie University in Canada with a Commerce degree in 2008.
In 2009, he started working in the United States as a sales manager for a mining company, and 6 months later, he was sent to Mexico to open and operate a new branch as CEO. This new branch, Gold Ocean, sells iron ore and copper from Mexico to China. In 2010, sales of the company was 2 million US dollars, while in 2011 sales had increased to 6 million US dollars. In 2012, he went to Hong Kong to join an international investment bank, Macquarie Bank, to do an IPO and merger case for a corporation from China. In 2014, he opened an importing company, Shenzhen Bilberry Industrial Co. Ltd., which imports natural healthy food and drink products from Finland to China. The main products to import are bilberry juice, cranberry juice, sea buckthorn juice, honey, spring water, baby water, and others.
William has over six years of international business experience, including four years between Finland and China. Today, William fully understands and appreciates the Finnish culture, and knows how to communicate and negotiate with Finnish people. He has a very good reputation and social network in China, and he speaks fluent Chinese and English.
Expert in Import
Peng studied Business Engineering in Germany and graduated in 1999 with a master’s degree. In addition to her native language Chinese, she speaks fluently in English and German. Peng has 3 years of experience in export business of auto installation tools and spare parts from Germany to China for German Volkswagen. She has also experience in consulting Chinese companies about investments in Germany.
She came back to China in 2008 and worked for a Chinese generating equipment manufacturer until 2014. The company is one of the most influential enterprise groups under the direct administration of Chinese Central Government. Through this group, she participated in large infrastructure projects and was in charge of importing equipment from the EU for about 3 years. After that she assisted the company Board of Directors for about 4 years, where she gained experience in management, strategy development and communication.
She has worked in her current position since 2014 and is mainly responsible for business communication with Finnish Colleagues and suppliers, and importing products from Finland to China.

It all started when the owner of Pohjolan Mustikka Ltd., Mr. William Fu, first came to Finland to look for possibilities to establish a factory to start the sale of bottled water. During his many visits, he learned that Finland offers numerous other interesting possibilities, such as pure, natural, high quality food products, as well as a healthy outlook on food safety and sustainability. He wanted to share these experiences with his clients and friends in China. This was the starting point, and in 2014 he began exporting food and drink products from Finland to China. In 2015, William established “Pohjolan Mustikka Ltd”in Mikkeli, to take advantage of the strong network in the region.
Today, Pohjolan Mustikka exports exclusively Finnish, natural products that have a high content of healthy elements and pure, natural taste. He selects the products in his portfolio with care. The marketing and branding of our products in China is made with taste and respect to Finnish nature. Since the products are high quality and safe, they can be marketed also to special customer groups like children and pregnant women.
Pohjolan Mustikka is also interested in the welfare of local communities and active in increasing the welfare of children and women both in Finland and in China. In Finland we collaborate actively with “Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry”, which improves the medical care of sick children, by donating a part of the sale of each bottle that goes to China.
